I have a 2001 Savage with 450 miles on the odometer. Anyone know if it's common for the tailpipe to "scorch" (the chrome finish turning brown from excessive heat) in an area about four inches from the back of the tail pipe? There's a ring about ½" in width circling around the tailpipe about 4" from the end of the pipe. Other than that, the header is not "bluing" and there are no other signs of overheating. I'm careful to make sure that I don't ride with the choke out for any longer than necessary for the engine to run normally. Thanks.
